The largest number of violations and shortcomings was identified in the area of state security and defense – 16.5 billion Hryvnia.
The Accounts Chamber identified violations and shortcomings in the management of public finances amounting to almost 60.8 billion Hryvnias. This was reported yesterday by the press service of the department following the results of its work in 2023.
It is indicated that in total, 771 billion hryvnias were analyzed and evaluated, 399 objects were monitored, and 59 reports were prepared and approved based on the results of control activities.
According to the annual report, the greatest number of violations and deficiencies were identified in the following areas:

state security and defense capabilities – UAH 16.5 billion;

state budget revenues – UAH 12.4 billion;

social sphere and health care – UAH 8.4 billion.
It was found that of the total number of recommendations issued by the Accounts Chamber in 2022 and 2023, 64.4% have been implemented or are in the process of being implemented by the end of 2023.
Based on the results of 14 audits conducted in 2023, nine pre-trial investigations in criminal proceedings were launched. Three reports from the Accounts Chamber aim to join the criminal proceedings.
We remind you that on January 10, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Olga Peschanskaya to the post of head of the Accounts Chamber.
It was also reported that the parliament updated the Court of Accounts contrary to the position of the G7.
