Recently, Ukraine continues to conduct operations to destroy Russian oil and gas industry facilities.
The position of the United States of America regarding the Ukrainian attack on Russian territory has not changed. State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller said this on Tuesday, March 26, commenting on Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries, writes Ukrinform.
“Our position since the beginning of this war has always been that we neither encourage nor support attacks by Ukraine outside its territory,” a US State Department spokesman said.
Miller did not answer the question of whether the American side contacted Kiev after the recent attack on a Russian oil refinery in the Samara region.
He added that the US position reflects its “long-term policy” and that it has been “clearly delivered” on Ukraine.
We remind you that on March 23, an explosion occurred at an oil refinery near the city of Novokuybyshevsk, Samara Region of the Russian Federation, and then a fire started. According to preliminary data, the plant was attacked by a drone.
Since the beginning of the year, 13 Russian refineries have been attacked. The drone attack led to the year’s biggest weekly increase in global oil prices.
The United States called on Ukraine to stop attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, as drone attacks on refineries could lead to an increase in world oil prices.
