Results 25.03: Attack in Kyiv and attack on the state district power station in the Russian Federation

In the morning, Russian aggressors attacked Kyiv with two Zircon missiles, which covered the distance from Crimea in about three minutes. The Air Force announced the downing of both targets, but their debris fell in three districts of Kyiv. In particular, in the Pechersky district of Kyiv, 10 people were injured, and a three-story gym building was damaged. There is also a nearby hostel where there are quite a lot of people. Falling debris was also recorded in the Solomensky and Dnieper regions.

Last night in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation, drones attacked a thermal power plant – Novocherkassk State District Power Plant. Subsequently, local authorities announced that two power units of the state district power plant were temporarily taken out of service after the fire. Novocherkasskaya GRES is the main source of power generation in the Rostov region, supplying electricity to the most industrialized southwestern part of the region.

The extent of the damage to the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station (DneprHPP) still requires a thorough analysis, but it is known that it will take years to restore it. General Director of Ukrhydroenergo Igor Sirota said this. He said that it is not yet possible to dismantle all the rubble in the station, because both the ceiling and the wall with the crane beam in the turbine room are tilted. It is necessary to dismantle the upper part of the turbine hall to get to the lower part. The General Director confirmed that the situation at the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station dam is under control and there is no threat of a breakthrough.

A bill has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada, which proposes to regulate the activities of information sharing platforms, including the Telegram messenger. The authors of the bill are 12 people’s representatives from different factions, including the pro-government Servant of the People. The argument for the introduction of Telegram regulation is that this platform may be associated with an aggressor state, as stated in the explanatory note.

A noticeable lack of electricity remains in Kharkov after the attack by Russian aggressors on the night of March 22. Therefore, in order to reduce energy consumption, the heating season in the city will be completed ahead of schedule. According to the mayor of the city, last Friday the enemy actually destroyed the main energy facilities operating in Kharkov.
