Sergei Andreev suggested that the Polish side send him the corresponding note by courier or mail.
The Ambassador of Russia to Poland, Sergei Andreev, did not come to the Polish Foreign Ministry, although he was summoned because of the violation of Polish airspace by a Russian missile. Foreign Ministry Speaker Pavel Vronsky said this at a briefing in Warsaw, he said Ukrinform on Monday, March 25th.
“The Vienna Convention clearly defines the duties of the ambassador in the host country. We are interested in whether the ambassador follows the instructions of the Foreign Ministry in Moscow and whether he is able to properly represent the interests of the Russian Federation in Warsaw,” he said, commenting on Andreev’s demarche.
Vronsky assured that Poland would now send a diplomatic note to the Russian Foreign Ministry through another channel demanding an explanation for the fact that the Russian missile had violated Polish airspace.
Meanwhile, Sergei Andreev, in a commentary in the Russian media, said that he refused to go to the Polish Foreign Ministry because allegedly “there is no evidence that we are talking about a Russian missile.” He added that he proposed that the Polish side send him the corresponding note by courier or mail.
Let’s recall that on March 24, a Russian missile violated Polish airspace in the area of the village of Oserdów, Lublin Voivodeship, and stayed there for 39 seconds.
Polish Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz later said the military would have shot down the Russian missile if they were confident it was heading for some domestic target. And the Polish Armed Forces said they did not shoot down the missile so as not to create a danger for the local population.
Meanwhile, social networks exploded with memes about Poland’s air defense.
