Modern air defense systems provided by Western partners have saved thousands of lives, the Defense Ministry said.
Ukrainian air defense units have shot down more than 2,000 Russian cruise and ballistic missiles since the full-scale Russian offensive began. The Ministry of Defense reported this online X on Monday, March 25th.
“This is the result of the titanic work of the Ukrainian air defense. Thousands of lives have been saved by modern air defense systems provided by our partners. However, Ukraine still needs more air defense systems to protect our people from fear of Russia. Because civilian infrastructure remains the main target of Russian strikes,” – said the message.
We remind you that in recent days the Russians have intensified their rocket attacks on Ukraine. And on March 22, they carried out the largest attack on our state’s energy system. The air defense shot down about two-thirds of the targets, but serious damage was unavoidable.
