He announced this on Sunday on Facebook.
According to Nikolyuk, he will now lead one of the formations and one of the front directions.
The current time requires every Ukrainian, and especially the military, to make maximum and greater efforts to defeat the Russian enemy. And I plan to do all this by leading one of the formations and one of the front directions. I resign as commander of the Ground Forces Training Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and wish my successor to continue to build up the potential that we have jointly developed over the year. “I am grateful to everyone for the fruitful cooperation and am confident of its continuation in the new conditions,” he wrote.
In February, the commander of the operational-strategic group of troops “Khortitsa” was replaced – he became Lieutenant General, Commander of the Joint Forces Yuri Sodol. Subsequently, the commander of the Tavria OSUV, Brigadier General Alexander Tarnavsky, moved to another position.
Nikolyuk is known for direct participation in battles during the defense of Chernigov and the Chernigov region. Since March 2023, he served as commander of the training of the Armed Forces Ground Forces Command.
In October 2022, Nikolyuk was included in the list of the 25 most influential Ukrainian military men from the ND.
