First, energy workers will activate critical infrastructure – heat supply, water supply and hospitals.
It takes 24 hours to restore power supply to household consumers who lost power as a result of Russia’s attack on the Ukrainian energy system. Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said this at a government meeting on Friday, March 22.
He noted that the enemy’s strikes today are mainly directed against energy. In total, about 20 substations and power plants were hit, including DneproGES.
“The key now is that the energy system is intact and the energy system is working stably. Thanks to the additional protection of our energy facilities, we have withstood the blow. There is no shortage of capacity and it is not yet predicted. The teams at repairs are working 24/7 to restore power supply to Ukrainian homes as soon as possible,” said Shmygal.
He said that the light will be restored in three stages:
-
First, critical infrastructure (heating, water supply, hospitals) will be repaired;
-
the second stage is the healing of the population;
-
in the third – the industry will recover.
“Preliminarily, we need one day to heal all household consumers. We will restore everything gradually. Ukrenergo and the Ministry of Energy will provide all the additional details,” the head of government concluded.
Let us remind you that today the Russians have carried out the biggest attack on the energy sector of Ukraine. A powerful missile strike hit DneproGES. Hundreds of thousands of consumers were left without power in the regions, but connections have begun.
In total, the enemy deployed more than 150 missiles and attack drones. Air defense forces destroyed 92 enemy targets.
