WindRunner’s mission is to deliver giant 300-foot-long blades directly to wind farms.
American startup Radia is building the world’s largest cargo aircraft. This was reported by CNN.
The WindRunner is expected to surpass the An-225, the heaviest aircraft ever built, which was destroyed early in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The WindRunner will have a cargo volume of 272 thousand cubic feet, which is comparable to the volume of three Olympic swimming pools. It is 12 times larger than the Boeing 747-400 and 127 feet long. The wingspan is 261 feet.
It was noted that the mission of the WindRunner aircraft was to deliver giant blades, 300 feet long (91.4 m, – ed.), directly to wind power plants.
The plane will use environmentally friendly aviation fuel and only need a dirt or gravel runway to land. It can reach a 6,000-foot (1,800-meter) runway, something no other large commercial aircraft can do.
We remind you that Türkiye presented a new cargo UAV.
It was also reported that China has finally excluded Russia from the CR929 airliner project, which competes with aircraft produced by Boeing and Airbus.
