Mykola Azarov and his henchmen helped organize and distribute anti-Ukrainian interviews and comments in the Russian media.
Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov and his aide, who are in Russia, will be tried for high treason. The Office of the Prosecutor General announced this on Thursday, March 21.
The investigation established that after escaping to the Russian Federation, Azarov created a Telegram channel, where he published propaganda messages with Kremlin narratives, which generated anti-Ukrainian sentiments in society.
The Telegram channel is managed by two aides of the former prime minister. One of them held the position of head of the Kyiv district state management organization department. His case is in court. Another assistant is a former employee of the same Regional State Administration, who traveled to the territory of Russia.
According to the investigation, accomplices jointly coordinated information and propaganda activities of Azarov on the Telegram channel, as well as on other social networks. They helped organize and distribute anti-Ukrainian interviews and comments in the Russian media.
Azarov and the second assistant were charged with:

public calls for violent change and overthrow of the constitutional order or usurpation of state power;

interference with the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine;

justification and recognition as legitimate, rejection of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
Mykola Azarov was also charged with state treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
We remind you that this is not the first case against Azarov. In September 2023, an indictment was sent to the court against him and former President Viktor Yanukovych for the agreements in Kharkov. With this document, in 2010, officials extended the stay of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on the territory of Ukraine for 25 years.
