Italian Prime Minister Jorja Maloney has filed a lawsuit over obscene videos in which her face was superimposed on someone else’s body.

Meloni demands 100 thousand euros in compensation due to a fake porn video with her participation. Two people, 40 and 73 years old, superimposed her face on the bodies of porn actresses using a deepfake and posted the fake video on a porn site, where it was viewed millions of times, Politico writes.
Maloney will appear in court on July 2. She says she will donate the money to a fund for women victims of violence if she receives a refund.
The purpose of the goal is “to send a message to women who are victims of this type of abuse of power not to be afraid to press charges,” the lawyer added.
A deepfake is an image or video that has been digitally manipulated to superimpose a person’s face onto another body. The technology is becoming increasingly common, raising concerns about its role in both political disinformation and online sexual advances.
Later this month, Italy is set to introduce legislation to regulate artificial intelligence, following a landmark EU law on artificial intelligence that the European Parliament approved last week.
Deepfakes are not illegal in Europe under the EU’s new set of rules on artificial intelligence, but content creators must be transparent about their origins.
The EU is also requiring major tech platforms including TikTok, X and Facebook to identify AI-generated content under its content moderation law, the Digital Services Act.
