The House of Representatives believes that in order to respect the security interests of the Czech Republic, it is necessary to continue to support Ukraine.
The Czech Republic’s House of Commons has called Russia’s ruling regime the biggest threat to their country’s security. It is reported Czech News.
The chamber adopted the proposal of the coalition as a result of the vote of 84 representatives exclusively from the coalition camp. It needs at least 72 votes to pass.
“Czech interests are an independent, democratic and free Ukraine, firmly anchored in international structures,” said the resolution adopted at the end of the extraordinary session on security threats.
The House of Commons also supported extending aid to Ukraine, including supplies of military equipment.
The document states that it is in the Czech Republic’s interest that if Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s war against Ukraine fails, Ukraine will defend itself and restore its territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.
According to the House of Representatives, in order to respect the security interests of the Czech Republic, it is necessary to continue to provide assistance to Ukraine.
“On the contrary, stopping the supply of military materials will lead to the occupation and destruction of Ukraine by the Russian terrorist regime and encourage this regime to further attacks against European states,” the resolution said.
Earlier it became known that the Czech Republic had prior permission to purchase 200 thousand shells. So, this will be additional ammunition for Ukraine in addition to the obligatory 300 thousand ammunition within the framework of the Czech initiative. In total, it is planned to deliver 800 thousand shells to Ukraine.
Today it is known that more than 15 countries have pledged to allocate funds for the purchase of shells. This includes Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Germany, France and Norway, as well as non-European allies such as Canada.
