The Rada supported in the first reading a bill aimed at improving the procedure for receiving, declaring and holding firearms.
Ukrainians will be able to declare weapons received during the war. This was said on Wednesday, March 20, in a statement by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Bohdan Drapyaty on Telegram.
The corresponding bill was adopted by the Rada in the first reading. The document provides changes to the declaration of arms:
-
Weapons found or received must be declared – this is free
-
Civilians are required to report weapons or ammunition found to the police within 24 hours and then declare them or surrender them.
-
If the found or declared weapon appears in criminal proceedings, removed or illegally changed markings, or has inconsistencies specified by law, it will be confiscated
Thus, according to Drapyaty, civilians will receive legal guarantees to legally store weapons found during martial law.
In Zaporozhye, an education security officer discovered a bag of ammunition of various modifications near an educational institution.
In the Sumy region, DBR discovered a cache of ammunition left behind by the Russian military
