The Netherlands is allocating more than 150 million euros for the purchase of ammunition and 200 million euros for the purchase of drones for Ukraine.
Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren announced on the allocation of a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 350 million euros.
According to him, the country will buy air-to-ground ammunition for the F-16 fighter jet sent to Ukraine. It is planned to allocate 150 million euros for this; ammunition will be purchased directly from the industry.
In addition, the Netherlands awarded a contract for new reconnaissance drones worth around €200 million to partner countries.
According to the Dutch Ministry of Armour, there are plans to buy a large number of ISR (intelligence and reconnaissance) drones and transfer them to Ukraine. This is done after consultations with other partners and the Ukrainian armed forces.
“These drones are already in use and have proven themselves on the battlefield,” Ollongren said.
It was previously reported that the Netherlands will allocate 100 million euros to the Czech initiative to buy ammunition for Ukraine internationally.
We remind you that Ukraine and the Netherlands have signed a security agreement. The document provides 2 billion euros in military aid from the Netherlands this year and subsequent defense aid over the next 10 years.
