The Prime Minister said that the mobilization of 500 thousand people is not necessary, because of the rotations that are taking place on the front line and the supply of weapons.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal said that for now there is no need to mobilize 500 thousand Ukrainians in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He said this in an interview with Bloomberg.
According to the prime minister, the assessment showed that such a scale of mobilization is not necessary, due to the rotations occurring in the front line and the supply of weapons.
“We will continue the fight if we receive support from our partners with artillery shells, long- and medium-range missiles,” Szmigal said.
As a reminder, the new mobilization law, which will be voted on in parliament on March 31, is intended to update the country’s legislative framework ahead of this year’s expected recruitment wave, where up to 500,000 people could be drafted. It is indicated that 330 thousand people will replace the military personnel at the front that requires rotation.
