According to the investigation, the official (chairman of the budget committee of the regional council) offered to help the serviceman in providing him with financial assistance for treatment. For this, after the funds arrived on the bank card, he had to give half the amount to the official.
Law enforcement officers gradually documented the criminal activities of the deputy and detained him “in the act” while receiving a new bribe amount.
The attacker faces up to 10 years in prison, the SBU reported.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau reported that in January 2024, the official offered to help the serviceman provide him with financial assistance for treatment.
