Luxembourg has expressed interest in the reconstruction of the Krivoy Rog district of the Dnepropetrovsk region. This is what Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said following a meeting with Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden on March 19.
“We appreciate the contribution to support Ukraine and our integration with Europe. Luxembourg has also expressed interest in the reconstruction of the Krivoy Rog district of the Dnipropetrovsk region – a strong industrial center of our state. I thank Luxembourg for in military cooperation, as well as in advocating for macro-financial assistance last year and for facilitating the approval of Ukraine’s program,” said Shmigal.
According to him, Luxembourg is ready to join the implementation of the seventh point of the Peace Formula of President Vladimir Zelensky, which deals with punishing Russia for crimes committed.
“Particular attention is paid to the sanctions policy. Our common task is to block all means for Russia to finance an aggressive war. One of the main issues is the confiscation of frozen Russian assets. According to preliminary data, more than EUR6 billion of Russian resources are stored in Luxembourg. Our principled position is that these funds should work in Ukraine now, “said the head of the Ukrainian government.
It was previously reported that the Danish government is providing a grant of $1.45 million to help rebuild Ukraine.
Let’s remember that, according to media reports, Ukrainian infrastructure destroyed by Russian attacks is already being restored by companies from Austria, Germany, Denmark and Turkey. In total, the post-war reconstruction budget could reach more than a trillion dollars.
