Vladimir Putin’s trip may take place before Xi Jinping’s planned visit to Europe.
Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to visit China in May for talks with Xi Jinping. Reuters reported this, citing five sources, on Tuesday, March 19.
“Putin will visit China,” one of the sources, who wished to remain anonymous, told the publication.
The details were independently confirmed by four other sources, who also wished to remain anonymous.
Another source said that Putin’s trip to China is likely to take place in the second half of May.
The two sources also said Putin’s visit would come ahead of Xi Jinping’s planned trip to Europe.
The Kremlin declined to comment. Beijing has yet to comment.
Let’s remember that in October 2023, Putin visited China. On October 18, he held talks with Xi Jinping. Before this, the Russian leader spoke at the third International Forum One Belt, One Road.
Then the Main Intelligence Directorate said that the consequences of this visit for Beijing will be better than for Moscow.
