The channel for supplying drugs to the Rivne pre-trial detention center was organized by the 40-year-old so-called “supervisor” of the pre-trial detention center.
The police exposed members of an organized criminal group that established drug trafficking in the Rivne pre-trial detention center. This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine on Monday, March 18.
A 40-year-old so-called “supervisor” of the pre-trial detention center organized a channel for the supply of drugs to the Rivne pre-trial detention center. As an assistant, he took a 38-year-old prison inmate in the drug business, who was serving a sentence for committing serious crimes and was an active participant in riots in penitentiary institutions.
Helpers from “freedom” bought drugs, formed packages and transferred them to the territory of the correctional institution, and there they were distributed to prisoners.
“In keeping with criminal traditions, these individuals donate part of the funds received from criminal activities to the so-called “common fund”. The rest is distributed by the leader of the group to the members of the organized criminal group,” the report said.
The operation to eliminate the drug business in the prison took place in two stages and lasted several months.
Depending on the distributed roles of the participants in an organized criminal group, the actions of each of the exposed criminals are qualified under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Let’s recall that in the Kyiv region, an organized criminal group involved in the smuggling of foreign precursors for the production of “heavy” psychotropics was neutralized. During operational activities in the capital region, four main organizers of the criminal group were detained. It has been documented that two tons of precursors for the production of particularly dangerous psychotropics, including PVP and mephedrone, were transported from East Asia to Ukraine.
Earlier, Kyiv law enforcement officers exposed a minibus taxi driver who was transporting drugs to the capital from the city of Malin, Zhitomir region, and selling them at a public transport stop.
