Last year, 1.5 million tons of grain were imported from Russia to the EU, which is more than before the start of the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine.
Next week, the Czech Republic will propose at a meeting of the European Council to ban the import of Russian and Belarusian grain to the European Union. This was said by the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, Marek Vyborny, on Czech television.
“We will insist that grains and oilseeds are on the sanctions list and not go to Europe,” said Vyborny.

“There is no reason why we should support the aggressor by buying Russian grain in Europe,” Vyborny added and assured that there is no risk of rising food prices after a possible ban on Russian grain imports.
Let’s remember that the number of companies authorized in the Russian Federation exceeds 6,000. At the same time, Western countries have also begun to increase sanctions against companies from third countries that are suspected of violating strict measures against the Russian Federation.
