The adopted law is necessary for European integration. It is a framework document that agrees with the basic principles of extended producer responsibility and the involvement of local authorities in the process.
The Verkhovna Rada supported the law on waste management in general. This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak. Bill No. 2207-1-d was supported by 282 representatives of the people.
The adopted law is necessary for European integration. It is a framework document that agrees with the basic principles of extended producer responsibility and the involvement of local authorities in the process.
This principle assumes that the separate collection and processing of packaging is organized and funded by the manufacturer of the goods.
The law, in particular, refers to the creation of a waste management information system. The document will allow in the future to approve sectoral bills detailing the functions and workplaces of the extended responsibility of the producer, and will introduce responsibility for the recycling of packaging wastes for manufacturers of Ukrainian.
The municipal fee is proposed to introduce only for medical (syringes, medical masks) and other hazardous waste (full mercury thermometers, fluorescent lamps).
Recall that the European Commission officially announced that they approved Ukraine’s application and recommended that the country be granted the status of a candidate for EU membership in the subsequent implementation of the necessary measures.
Earlier it was reported that the Netherlands is asking the European Commission to carefully prescribe conditions for Ukraine’s further approach to EU membership.
