The Moldovan authorities denied an attack on a military unit in the separatist Transnistria region – near Tiraspol – the center of the so-called PMR. Footage was also distributed. Moldovan authorities say that the military equipment in the pictures has not been working for several years.
There, the incident is considered an attempt to cause fear and panic in the region. They note that they are in contact with the Ukrainian side.
GUR speaker Yusov, in a comment to Public, called this a “Russian provocation.” The Moldovan Bureau of Reintegration Policy reported that the Chisinau authorities, in contact with the Ukrainian side, do not confirm an attack on the Transnistrian region.
They also stated that “this incident is an attempt to cause fear and panic in the region,” and the military equipment shown in the photographs has not been working for several years.
