In northwest Pakistan, a suicide bomber rammed a truck full of explosives into a military post. The Associated Press reported this yesterday.
The attack is said to have taken place in North Waziristan, a region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that borders Afghanistan. The truck explosion killed five soldiers and two other officers in the ensuing shootout.
At the same time, the military was able to kill six attackers, some of whom were wearing suicide vests.

The military reported that operations to clear the area are ongoing.
Earlier in Pakistan, militants attacked a police station and two military posts in the northwest of the country. Four officers and three militants were killed then.
