All cars, thanks to power from a generator, are completely autonomous and are equipped with artificial lung ventilation devices, blood transfusions, cardiac monitors, aspirators, and other medical equipment.
This train has intensive care cars with oxygen stations; in some cars it is possible to carry out surgical intervention while the train is moving.
The first medical carriage, which has no analogues in the world, was created in early March 2022. At that time there were no drawings or technical documentation, but there was a great need for such cars.
Railway workers and doctors converted the first carriage in 4 days. Today, the number of cars involved in medical evacuation is 62 units, noted the Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia Evgeniy Lyashchenko.
By the end of the year, railway workers will convert eight more cars for medical evacuation.
