The German concern hopes to produce 700,000 shells by 2025 and up to 500,000 by 2024.

The German concern Rheinmetall plans to build at least four factories in Ukraine where they will produce weapons. This is what Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger said, reports the French newspaper Le Monde.

Rheinmetall factories in Ukraine will start producing shells, military equipment and air defense systems, the official said.

“Ukraine is now an important partner for us, and we see the potential of two to three billion euros (sales, – edit.) per year,” Papperger noted.

He added that in the medium term, Rheinmetall plans to produce “1.1 million 155mm shells” needed for artillery at all its plants.

The concern hopes to produce 700,000 shells by 2025 and up to 500,000 by 2024.

As we have already written, the world’s largest manufacturer of artillery ammunition, the German defense concern Rheinmetall AG, increased revenue by 12% in 2023 and adjusted EBIT by 19%, which are both indicators is setting new records.

In addition, Rheinmetall will produce shells for Ukraine at a cost of 142 million euros. The customer for the ammunition is a NATO partner country that has expressed its intention to support Ukraine.
