Many American voters are still undecided, and 11% said they would vote for other candidates.
Incumbent US President Joe Biden has a slight 1% lead over Donald Trump, according to a new opinion poll conducted by Reuters/Ipsos. It was found out on Thursday, March 14.
So, about 39% of registered American voters said they would vote for Joe Biden if the election were held today. Another 38% of respondents would choose Donald Trump. In this case, the statistical error is 1.8%.
The poll also found that many voters were still undecided: 11% said they would vote for other candidates, 5% said they would not vote, and 7% said they did not know or declined to answer.
“Trump has a slight lead among all respondents, but Biden’s lead among registered voters is important because people who are already registered to vote are more likely to do so in November,” it said.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll collected responses online from across the country and included 4,094 American adults, including 3,356 registered voters. The error is 1.8% for registered voters and 1.7% for all respondents.
As you know, in January, the poll data showed a huge advantage of Trump over Biden: 40% compared to 34%. But in February, the current leader of the White House narrowed the gap – 37% compared to 34%.
