Serebrian said the printing of ballots in Transnistria aims to show Moldova that the region does not respect national laws.
Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian accused Russia of violating laws related to the printing of ballots in Transnistria for its presidential “election”. This was reported by Euractiv.
“These ballots were probably printed right there (in Transnistria) so that they could not be taken across the border,” he said.
According to Serebrian, Moldova’s borders are controlled and there is no way to legally import or export ballots.
He added that the printing of ballots in Transnistria aims to show Moldova that the region does not respect national laws.
We remind you that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova protested to the Russian Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov for opening polling stations in Transnistria on the day of the Russian presidential election.
As reported, on February 28, a congress of “representatives of all levels” took place in unrecognized Transnistria, which had not been held for 18 years. The authorities of the “PMR” officially turned to Russia “for help.” The reason for the appeal was called the “economic blockade of Moldova.”
The government of Moldova considers the calls of representatives of unrecognized Transnistria to the Russian Federation propaganda.
