The participation of German soldiers in the use of Taurus is unacceptable, even if they are not physically located on the territory of Ukraine, the chancellor said.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz could not “get over himself” to make a decision on the transfer of Taurus long-range cruise missiles for the defense of Ukraine. He said this during “question and answer time” in the Bundestag, Ukrinform reported on Wednesday, March 13.
“I am dismissing the sending of missiles to Ukraine… For me, as chancellor, this is a non-transitional border,” Scholz said.
He again emphasized the need to ensure that there was no German participation, and the use of such missiles, according to the Chancellor, required the participation of German soldiers. This is unacceptable even if the soldiers are not physically present on the territory of Ukraine.
In the past, Olaf Scholz ruled out the possibility of moving Taurus missiles to Ukraine if the German military needed them to help their operation.
We remind you that on February 22, the German parliament decided to recommend that the German government provide Ukraine with long-term weapons. The final decision rests with the chancellor.
