To escape Romania, the men use online maps to plan a route through a high mountain area.
Border guards detained two men who had been wandering the mountains of Transcarpathia for 24 hours in an attempt to reach Romania illegally. The press center of the State Border Service reported this on Tuesday, March 12.
A 26-year-old resident of the Ternopil region and his 24-year-old friend from the Ivano-Frankivsk region independently planned a route using online maps in a high mountainous area. They have no clothes, food or proper equipment for hiking in the mountains. For two days the men tried to reach Romania.
“After spending the first night in the open air, the men froze and got wet from the rain. In the morning they continued to move along the chosen route. 1.5 km before the border, the “travelers”, tired and exhausted, were discovered by a border patrol. The men were glad to find them, after all, they understood that they could die,” the message said.
Violators were taken to the border unit, given hot tea and given a chance to dry their clothes and shoes.
Administrative violation reports were made against both men, and the case was sent to court.
Let us remind you that earlier in Transcarpathia they discovered a draft dodger who had been wandering in the mountains for three days without water or food. And the body of a young Carpathian citizen was pulled out of Tisa.
