David Arakhamia said that in order to normalize relations, Georgia should return Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili; stop direct flights with the Russian Federation; and stop helping Russia evade sanctions.
The head of the Servant of the People party group, David Arahamia, made counter demands from Tbilisi to normalize relations. He wrote about it on Monday, March 11, on his Telegram channel, responding to the request of the Georgian authorities to extradite “criminals currently occupying high positions in Ukraine.
“The pro-Kremlin Georgian authorities are putting forward several demands for the extradition of our citizens in order to” normalize relations,” Arahamia said.
He added that for real “normalization” Georgia should release the Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili from prison and return him and stop direct flights with the Russian Federation, which the Georgian people also demand.
Arahamia also demanded that Georgia stop helping Russia evade sanctions.
“Then the normalization of relations will happen easily,” summarized the head of the Servant of the People team.
Let’s remember that earlier Georgia submitted a request for Ukraine to “normalize relations” – the extradition of Saakashvili’s officials who are now working in Ukraine.
As you know, relations between Ukraine and Georgia are going through a difficult period. Tbilisi refused to impose sanctions against Russia and also banned its citizens from joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
