Ukrainian soldiers did not succeed in removing this platform on the first try. However, Ukrainian specialists eventually won important trophies and intelligence. During the operation, not only technical means were used, but also the personal skills of the fighters. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced this on Facebook on March 11.
The specialists from the Main Intelligence Directorate faced two big obstacles in the form of engineering obstacles and Russian aviation. The scouts had three starting points from which they could set off to complete this task. These points were constantly changing, so that the Russians did not know where the operation was starting from.
Details of the special operation and unique footage of the dismissal of the Black Sea platform “Tavrida” were published online.
Let us remember that Russia occupied the Boyko Towers in 2015, and with the start of a full-scale invasion, they used it for military purposes. In particular, the drilling platforms “Petr Godovalets” and “Ukraine”, as well as the jack-up rig “Tavrida” and the jack-up rig “Sivash” were returned under control. Ukraine returned them to control in September last year, but the area around the platforms can be considered gray, since Russian aviation operates there.
