According to the Czech President, ammunition could reach Ukraine within a few weeks if “there are no fundamental problems,” writes Bild.
Thus, the Czech Republic allows what the European Union has never achieved: EU countries have delivered only a fraction of the promised million artillery shells.
For several months, Pavel’s government secretly sought ammunition supplies outside the EU. As a result, the Czech Republic intends to transfer half a million 155 mm shells and 300,000 122 mm shells.
It is not specified which countries the resulting ammunition came from. This could probably be South Korea, Türkiye or South African countries.
Earlier, the Czech Prime Minister said that funds had been raised to purchase the first batch of 300 thousand shells for Ukraine. The Western coalition of countries managed to raise funds to purchase 300 thousand artillery shells for Ukraine in accordance with the Czech initiative. Czech Prime Minister Petr Fial announced this.
Pavel argued that Ukraine could receive 800 thousand artillery shells purchased from outside Europe within a few weeks, because Ukraine’s 18 partner countries fully financed this purchase.
Norway, Germany, France, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Great Britain, Sweden, Lithuania and others joined in collecting the full amount.
