The head of the Canadian Ministry of Defense, Bill Blair, obliged the official Ottawa to take part in the work of the defense contact group of the coalition to strengthen the potential of Ukraine in the field of UAVs, led by Latvia and the UK. According to him, Canada will continue to look for ways to expand Ukraine’s capabilities in the field of drones.
The official emphasized that his country has already made a significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s capabilities in the field of UAVs. Specifically, it donated more than 100 specialized drone cameras made in Canada by L3 Wescam.
Blair also announced the transfer of more than 800 additional UAVs from Waterloo, Ontario-based Teledyne FLIR.
Earlier, Bill Blair said Canada was open to sending a limited number of military personnel to Ukraine. Canadian troops will not participate in combat operations, but they are ready to train Ukrainian soldiers.
We added that Ukraine has signed a security agreement with Canada, which stipulates that Canada can conduct training activities in Ukraine “when conditions permit.”
