President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky today, March 7, agreed on the candidacy of former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny for the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent a corresponding request to the British side for the agreman, the statement says.
The previous Ukrainian ambassador to Britain, Vadym Prystaiko, was fired in July 2023. He has held this post since July 2020.
On February 8, 2024, Zaluzhny was dismissed from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Alexander Syrsky was appointed instead.
