In the Vologda region of the Russian Federation on Thursday, March 7, a drone attacked the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant. This was reported by the Russian media.
At first, the official Telegram channel of the plant said that “a technological incident occurred” in the production of the blast furnace; one of the units was taken for allegedly pre-planned repairs. No one was hurt in the incident.
Later, the acting governor of the Vologda region, Georgy Filimonov, said that in Severstal, as a result of a drone strike of unknown origin, “an incident occurred at the blast furnace site.” The official assures that the business is operating as normal and there are no casualties.
Meanwhile, the Russian project VChK-OGPU, citing plant employees, reported that a blast furnace was completely out of order.
