The head of state welcomed the decision of the ISS to issue arrest warrants for the commanders of long-range aviation and the Russian Black Sea Fleet accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during shelling of Ukrainian infrastructure in 2022 and 2023. Zelensky left a corresponding comment on the social network X on March 5.
The President noted that every occupier commander who gives criminal orders must know that justice will come and he will be brought to justice. He stressed that international justice is inevitable, although it takes time.
We are making every effort to ensure that not a single Russian beast responsible for the murders of Ukrainian children, women and men goes unpunished. And not a single number of stars on the shoulder straps, not a single office door will hide her from responsibility,” he wrote.
Let us recall that on March 5, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for the commander of Russian long-range aviation, Sergei Kobylash, and the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Viktor Sokolov. They are suspected of being responsible for missile attacks carried out by the invaders under their command on the Ukrainian electrical infrastructure from at least October 10, 2022 to at least March 9, 2023.
