Hitting pedestrians in Poland: six Ukrainians injured

As a result of a car crash into people in Szczecin, Poland, six Ukrainians were injured, including a five-year-old boy. Ukrinform reported this on Sunday, March 3, with reference to the Consul of Ukraine in Gdansk, Alexander Plodysty.

The incident occurred on March 1. The driver of a Ford car drove into people crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing, and then began to deliberately hit pedestrians on the sidewalk without braking. After that, he tried to escape and caused a four-car accident. The total number of victims is 20 people.

According to the consul, today the doctor reported that the condition of the woman in critical condition has stabilized, and there is no threat to their lives. The injured child will stay in the same hospital with his mother for another 2-3 days, being cared for by family friends.

The remaining Ukrainians are in a stable condition, their lives are not in danger.

According to Plodysty, Ukrainians receive all necessary medical care. He noted that there was no talk of any payment for the treatment, although one of the women did not have Polish health insurance, as she came from Germany.

As reported, the attacker was detained; he is a 33 year old man. However, nothing is known about his motives.
