The American billionaire, founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, said that he sees no point in NATO’s activities. He wrote it on the X network.
“I have always wondered why NATO continued to exist even after its main enemy and raison d’etre, the Warsaw Pact, collapsed,” he wrote.
Musk wrote this opinion in response to a post by American businessman David Sachs that NATO is pointless.
“In 1991, the Soviet Union collapsed and NATO faced an existential crisis: its reason for existing no longer existed,” Sachs said in a statement.
He also added that instead of dissolving, the Alliance has developed a new mission: to expand. In doing so, the organization allegedly created hatred for itself.
It should be noted that it was the Warsaw Pact Organization that was created in opposition to NATO, and not vice versa.
Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics responded to Musk’s statement.
“Dear Elon Musk, the reason NATO was created, exists and will continue to exist is Russia and other enemies of the free world,” he wrote on the X network.
Let’s recall that in February information appeared that the Russians at the front started using Starlink terminals. GUR later confirmed the data and made the evidence public. According to intelligence data, the Russian Federation receives Starlink terminals through third countries thanks to the so-called parallel import.
Musk assured that his company SpaceX does not sell Starlink terminals to Russia directly or indirectly.
