Currently, several samples of such “floating body armor” have already been transferred to military units for testing.
Testing of special modular body armor for naval forces and engineering troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has begun in Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense announced this on Saturday, March 2.
It is indicated that the uniqueness of such a bulletproof vest is that in contact with water, a special module responds and the bulletproof vest serves as a life-saving vest.
“The Ministry of Defense received a request to develop a special module for body armor. The main task is to protect the lives of military personnel in the water. After all, we understand how much weight a soldier carries , especially when it comes to special forces,” said Deputy Defense Minister Vitaly Polovenko.
The new floating module was developed by the Central Directorate for the Development of Material Support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Foreign and domestic developers are involved in its creation. It is planned that such modules can be used in all approved models of armored vests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Currently, we have transferred several samples of such “floating body armor” to units for testing. If this stage is successful, we will continue with laboratory tests, “said Polovenko.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense approved the second sample of female body armor. His exams lasted three months and took place in two stages.
