Germany has begun reviewing the security of communications after Russian propaganda media published an alleged interception of a conversation between Bundeswehr officers discussing the transfer of Taurus missiles to Ukraine, reports of DPA.
It was noted that the check is being carried out by the Federal Office of Military Counterintelligence (BAMAD).
Before this, Russian media distributed a recording of an alleged conversation between Bundeswehr officers, in which they allegedly theoretically discussed the issue of transferring the Taurus to Ukraine, and the use of such weapons of the Defense Forces and the potential strike on the targets of the invaders, especially the Crimean Bridge.
After that, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked the German government to clarify the situation.
In this regard, speaking to journalists, a representative of the German Ministry of Defense said that BAMAD has taken “all necessary measures.”
Let’s remember that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that he is not transferring Taurus long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine because they could hit targets in Moscow. It has also been reported that the British government is privately trying to persuade their German colleagues to transfer Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
