The UK government has privately called on Germany to provide long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine.

Bloomberg reported this on March 1, citing the words of anonymous British officials.
One official stressed that “Germany must stop looking for excuses.”
Great Britain traditionally pushes its allies to make the right decisions. London expressed irritation at Scholz’s statements regarding long-range missiles. He this week ruled out sending Taurus missiles to Ukraine, arguing it would mean Germany would become party to a war with Russia.
Scholz also hinted that British and French troops are helping the Ukrainians operate long-range weapons systems against Russian targets and thus control the targets they strike.
The British Ministry of Defense denied Scholz’s words and stated that the use of targeting processes for cruise missiles received from allies is a matter for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The UK has proposed a solution to overcome Berlin’s resistance to sending the missiles, including a swap deal that would see London provide Kyiv with more of its own Storm Shadow missiles and Germany would then replenish Britain’s stockpile with replacement long-range missiles.
While Scholz is not agreeing to this scheme, Britain has more than once managed to break through the Allied resistance.
