The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov approved a plan of measures for the implementation of the adapted Annual National Program (ANP) of cooperation with NATO for 2024. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this on its Telegram channel on Friday, March 1.
The program was developed to implement the agreements following the Vilnius NATO summit. His top priority is reforming Ukraine’s security and defense sector.
“The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as the coordinator of the defense forces, must ensure systematic changes on the path to joining NATO. The implementation of AGNP activities is one of the priorities. The activities of the program is taking into account the recommendations of NATO experts”, stressed the head of the department, Rustem Umerov.
The agreed plan includes more than 50 MoD measures within 17 goals to be achieved this year.
“The maximum attention was paid to the process of monitoring the implementation of activities. At the same time, the document remains a flexible tool subject to an annual review of priorities based on the dynamics of the security situation,” added the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stanislav Gaider.
As we wrote earlier, the common center for analysis, preparation and education of Ukraine and NATO is the first such institution, designed to strengthen cooperation and exchange of experience between Kiev and the Alliance.
