Secret plans by NATO and the United States to build up the Ukrainian army ahead of a counter-offensive have been leaked.
Jack Teixeira, a Massachusetts National Guard soldier accused of leaking classified military documents and posting them online, has reached a guilty plea to federal prosecutors. ABC News reported this on Thursday, February 29.
Jack Teixeira, a young military computer technician accused of leaking highly classified government intelligence, will plead guilty Monday before a federal district court judge in Boston.
Federal prosecutors filed a motion Thursday notifying the judge that Teixeira intends to change his initial plea of not guilty.
“Teixeira has pleaded guilty, and the judge will decide whether this confession is truly voluntary,” the journalists explained.
It is not yet known what charge or charges Teixeira will face. The plea agreement was not made public.
Let’s recall that in the spring the American edition of the New York Times reported that allegedly classified documents appeared on Twitter and Telegram with details of US and NATO plans to strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine before the planned counter-offensive. According to the publication, the Pentagon is allegedly investigating who may be behind the “leak” of the documents.
Then the Office of the President of Ukraine clarified that Russia was behind this “leak”, and that “the enemy will soon see the real plans of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield.”
