This was stated in a statement from the brigade’s press service on February 29.
Avoiding minefields, the brigade’s units entered the city in armored vehicles and began advancing through the streets.
The Russians were not going to leave their positions and clung to every house. They were knocked out by force, using small arms and grenades. In addition, tanks were brought in to clean up the city.
As a result of the counter-offensive operation, the Russians lost more than a hundred military personnel.
The assault on the city was carried out by soldiers of the 3rd company of the 1st assault battalion and soldiers of the 2nd company of the 2nd assault battalion. Recently, Rakurs wrote that soldiers of the 3rd separate assault brigade drove out the invaders from the southeastern outskirts of Krasnogorovka.
The day before, the enemy attacked the south-eastern part of the settlement with roll-ups and entered its environs. In order to prevent the enemy from gaining a foothold, the 1st and 2nd assault battalions carried out an operation to clear the city of enemy forces. It is worth noting that the enemy managed to strengthen itself in a short period of time and prepare for a long defense.
The occupiers who remained in the city after long battles were asked to surrender, but since the refusal was received, the remnants of the enemy groups were destroyed.
