He stated this in a live broadcast of the Federal Assembly.
According to him, the Russian military uses hypersonic weapons to hit particularly important targets. We are talking about the Kinzhal aviation complex and the Zircon sea-based hypersonic strike complex.
Our weapons plans, which I spoke about in 2018, have been completed or are in their final stages. The Kinzhal hypersonic aviation complex has not only entered service, but is also being used with high efficiency in war, the dictator said.
Also, the Zircon hypersonic complex, which was not even discussed in 2018, has already been used in battle. However, this system is already in operation,” Putin said.
These words confirm the conclusions of experts from the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, who verified the fragments of an unknown missile found in Kyiv as 3M22 Zircon.
Experts said that Russian missiles contain parts that can be used in several types of products at once, while other components are only for specific models. In this case, elements characteristic of the 3M22 Zircon type rocket were discovered.
The debris and parts with specific markings refer to jet engine components, steering mechanisms and rocket electronics units.
Experts note that some of the markings indicate the production date of its components – late 2023 – early 2024. This means that the rocket was composed recently.
This conclusion correlates with the assertion that, despite Putin’s statements, Zircon has not yet been adopted in Russia. Alexander Leonov, general director of NPO Mashinostroeniya, announced this at the end of January.
