At just 21 years old, the Noupes-backed candidate won the election by a single margin with 50.88% of the vote. He was against the representative of the “Together” presidential coalition Nicole Bhutto. Thus, he who was born in 2000 becomes the youngest elected MP V.e: Republic.
A title previously held by Marion Marshall, who finished third at the age of 22 in 2012e: Voclus constituency. This is an unexpected feat for the party candidate Tavin Huiratira. In the first round, Thematay Le Guik was well ahead, gaining 20.10% of the vote against 41.90% of the opponent. The Independence Party wins the day in all three constituencies of French Polynesia.
