The situation on the battlefield in Ukraine is now “very serious” as the Ukrainian military faces an ammunition shortage due to a delay in a US aid package.

US State Department Speaker Matthew Miller stated this at a briefing on February 27.
He stressed that Ukrainian troops on the front line do not have enough ammunition needed to repel Russian aggression.
They continue to fight bravely, they continue to fight courageously, they still have weapons and ammunition that they can use, but now they have to conserve it because the U.S. Congress has failed to take action,” Miller said.
US President Joe Biden and Vice President Camila Harris met with leaders of both houses of Congress on February 27 to discuss assistance to Ukraine.
Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called the conversation “one of the most tense” he’s ever been on.
House Speaker Johnson, a Republican, said he believes Congress “should take care of America’s needs first,” particularly southern border issues, before considering aid to Ukraine, CNN reports.
At the same time, White House Speaker Jean-Pierre called the meeting “tense but productive.” According to her, all four leaders of Congress agreed with the president that the shutdown and delay in aid to Ukraine are unacceptable. Johnson and Biden also had a minute-long personal conversation after the meeting, but what was discussed is unknown.
