In the first nine months of 2023, Russia purchased almost $500 million worth of goods for its military industry from the European Union. A quarter of these supplies were sent directly from the European Union, while the rest were purchased through intermediaries in third countries. Bloomberg reported this.
The authors of the article claim that they were able to familiarize themselves with internal assessments of EU officials on the implementation of sanctions on the supply of high-priority dual-use goods – components, parts and electronics used in missiles and other high-tech military production.
The European Union has discovered a sharp increase in the export of such technologies to countries that resell them to Russians. We are talking about China, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Serbia, Armenia and the countries of Central Asia.
It is noted that the increased exports to these countries fully compensate for the reduction in direct sales to the Russian Federation.
Let us recall that in January the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption stated that 42 parts and components of foreign production were found in the Russian X-59 type aircraft missile.
