Western countries have become increasingly active in imposing sanctions against companies from third countries suspected of violating tough measures against Russia.
The number of Russian individuals and companies under sanctions from at least one of the major Western initiator countries, as a result of the next round of restrictive measures, has exceeded 6,000. This was reported by the Russian propaganda agency Interfax in connection with statistics from the X-Compliance system.
It was noted that there are currently 6,063 sanctioned individuals and companies in Russia, compared to 1,000 on February 20, 2022 and 5,444 at the end of last year.
“Since the beginning of 2024, the United States and its allies have taken 1,019 sanctions measures against Russian individuals and legal entities, including 964 in the short period from February 22 to 25. In particular , 488 Russian individuals are included in the American lists, which is a record figure for one day, in Canadian – 161, European – 151, Australian – 86,” the publication said.
