If Kyiv hands over the conquered territories to Russia, in a few years Ukraine will find itself in a new war, because Putin will not stop.
The leader of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, believes that he has won the war, so he will not stop. The former commander-in-chief of NATO forces in Europe, General Wesley Clark, said this on Monday, February 26, in an interview with Liga.net.
He explained that Putin may even go west.
“Putin’s ambitions are not limited to taking over Ukraine and if the Ukrainians lose, the next victim of aggression could be the Baltic states or Poland or Georgia,” Clark said.
“The statements of the Russian political leaders indicate that they now have confidence in themselves. They feel that time and dynamics are on their side,” the American general said.
Clark emphasized that Ukraine needs help from its allies to defeat Russia.
“If Ukraine wants to succeed, you must act as if this war will continue for many years,” the general advised.
In his opinion, if only Ukraine wins the world will be safer.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, reportedly visited the command post of the 58th combined army army in the combat zone in Ukraine.
