Some 20 European leaders met in Paris to discuss tighter coordination between allies and Ukraine.
Given the growing security threat from Russia, a decisive breakthrough in understanding Ukraine’s needs is needed. French President Emmanuel Macron said this at the opening of the International Conference to Support Ukraine in Paris on February 26, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, the conference participants should assess the situation and see what more they can do at the national level and collectively.
“More from the point of view of budget support, military aid, existing potential, as well as in the context of the implementation of bilateral agreements that some of us recently signed with Ukraine,” said the French president .
Macron emphasized that all the countries represented at the meeting of leaders came to the conclusion that “in a few years we must be prepared for the fact that Russia may attack other countries again.”
“Now Ukraine needs more from us than we have done,” the French President emphasized.
Macron assured world leaders of their full determination to prevent Russia from winning and to support Ukraine as long as necessary.
We remind you that in January, Great Britain became the first country to enter into a security agreement with Ukraine. Subsequently, Ukraine signed the same agreements with France and Germany, as well as with Denmark. Security agreements were also signed with Italy and Canada.
